I dont see that many complaints about FoW armor...
even then, I highly doubt that A-net would make it THAT hard to afford.

Perhaps this custmization could be limited by what items unlocked or in possesion. The craftman cant do the cool icy dragon sword effect, unless the player has/have unlocked one. When he can, he can also combine that effect to something else that is also present.
Perhaps diffrent craftsmen can do diffrent stuff, like the lions arch weapons forge has his style, and the Denravi craftsman another
This would be the PVEs use of the feature of unlocking skills and gear, solve the problem with the elites loosing their position -an still make some items overly pricy

Hmmmmm
Okay, its a nice idea but it will also wreck the economy. Weapons are traded most of all items so there has to be something to counter that. I like it the way it is now but i do wish i could mod the extra dmg % on weapons and casting speeds etc.
Anyway, it's still a nice idea and they should do something with it.

I agree! Don't see how they'll do it though, seems a bit hard

Great idea! I have come up with this a long time ago (maybe on another forum) but the people didn't get what I was talking about... kinda misunderstood it I guess.
Anyway, I think changing the skin is a good idea. I don't think that reforging a weapon completely is too realistic though. Like making a Fellblade from a Dragon Sword but WTH I'm in!
I think the idea that new pommel, hilt and blade skin options should be added (just like in Neverwinter Nights) is a better idea than fully reforged weapons. It would be awesome.
I also like the idea about glowing weapons, but I think that should come with elemental upgrades. Like flames in case of fiery prefix and so on, or imagine the Dragon Sword changed by the elemental upgrade, like an Ebon Dragon Sword with green flames.
My basic problem or dilemma or call it whatever u want is that swords and even some bows look way too small.... When I bought a Victo's Blade (with the shadow sword skin as u know) I thought that OMG this is gonna look cool. I admit I've only seen it in a female warrior's hands before and only on pictures. When I equiped it I thought: "What the hell, this is an oversized kitchen knife not a sword!", because I found it way too small comparing to my male warrior's bulk body. Weapon size or scale should be changed, make weapons bigger, or let us set the scale for it at crafters at least.
(Maybe it's just me with this problem...) The case is the same with some of the shields. The Aegis is the only one I like so far, and also the only one that cannot be dyed (apart from the green weapons, items and shields).
Take the Exalted Aegis as an example, it looks awesome but it's way too small (and it can't be dyed as well since it's a green).
My point here is, let us customize at least the size of shields as well, since they also make a part of our weapon arsenal.

Well, considering that Anet is always trying to include new gold-sinks to stimulate the economy, I'd have to say that this is a great idea.
